Ad Targets Political Hypocrites

Castle Rock - The Tom Wiens for U.S. Senate campaign announced today that it has released its first radio commercial of the primary campaign.

The 60-second ad, titled "Hypocrites," will begin airing today statewide in markets throughout Colorado and represents a substantial radio buy.

"We're very excited about the beginning of our media campaign," said Tom Wiens. "And it's just the beginning.  The public is tired of politicians from both the Right and the Left who campaign as fiscal conservatives and then engage in reckless and wasteful spending sprees while raising taxes. That's why I'm running for United States Senate, even against the wishes of establishment insiders from Washington and Denver. Our message to voters: not only do we have to take back our country, but we have to take back the Republican Party."

A complete transcript of the commercial appears below:

Wiens:

Barack Obama promises fiscal responsibility.  But in his first year, he's doubled the national debt and tripled the federal deficit.  This is Tom Wiens, Republican for United States Senate.

You know Democrats aren't the only hypocrites.  Too many  Republicans have forgotten what our party stands for.

Right here in Colorado, some Republican leaders backed Referendum C, the biggest tax increase in our state's history.  I opposed it.  I urged the leaders of my party not to do it.  But they did it anyway.

And now it's hurting our economy, costing us jobs and making small businesses suffer.

I'm a rancher and small business man. And when I was in the state Senate I never once voted for a tax increase. And I won't in the United States Senate either. And I'll vote against any budget that isn't balanced.

So join me at tomwiens.com

I'm Tom Wiens and I approve this message because together we can take our back our country and our party.

(Announcer): That was Tom Wiens.  The conservative choice for U.S. Senate.  Paid for and authorized by Tom Wiens for U.S. Senate Incorporated.
