When I decided to run for the U.S. Senate I did so to represent the Forgotten Americans, the ones Washington, DC special interests take for granted. As we go into the New Year, I want you to know that I am even more committed to fighting against the Washington lobbyists and insiders who are demanding more of your money for reckless and wasteful spending programs.

One thing has become clear over the last year: if you are a Washington insider, you can get a handout or a bailout, but the rest of us, the Forgotten Americans, we just get the bill.
In the last few weeks we have witnessed a sickening spectacle in DC that leaves me outraged!
It's a practice that is illegal in Colorado- and has been illegal under the Colorado Constitution since August 1, 1876! It's called vote-trading and, in Colorado, those that engage in it "shall be deemed guilty of bribery," (Colorado Constitution, Article V- Section 40).
Today, it's happening in Washington, and that's why I need your help right now!
Votes on the future of healthcare in this country have been bought and paid for. Billions of dollars of new spending programs have gone to the states of U.S. Senators who voted in favor of nationalizing healthcare.
Billions in bribes, with your money, in exchange for votes! I believe that such a practice is both wrong and a violation of the U.S. Constitution.
As your next U.S. Senator from Colorado, I will sponsor legislation that MAKES IT EXPLICITLY ILLEGAL to practice the vote-buying perfected by lobbyists and engaged in by Washington elites, so that we can put an end to the reckless runaway spending that it causes. We already have a law here in Colorado that prohibits vote buying inside our state legislature. If it's good enough for Colorado, it's good enough for DC. Let's bring a REAL REFORM agenda to the U.S. Senate, not just change the cast of characters.
That's why I'm writing to you now. We have to break up the Washington game where the insiders get the handouts and you get stuck with the bill. The people, like you, who pay the bill for Washington's schemes are truly Forgotten Americans; people who are working hard, playing by the rules and just trying to keep their families strong. It's time for ordinary Coloradans to rise up and say enough is enough!
